About Ms. Bacon

This school year will be 4th year teaching, and my 4th year at Harmon High School. I am a science nerd, co-Senior Class Sponsor, an RJE mediator and team member, and the assistant Cross Country coach. Before teaching at Harmon, I got my undergraduate degree in Science Education from the University of Northern Iowa (2017), and then received my Masters of Science in Biology from Grand Canyon University while teaching (2019). I know from experience that this online learning can and will be difficult at times, but I'm excited to adventure through this new year with you all.

I am one of six kids, and my family lives in two different states and 7 different cities. I love to travel, and I even studied abroad in South Africa in college. I'm an Iowa native, and proud Kansas City transplant for teaching. I have no pets, but I do have a huge garden!

As a teacher, my goal is for you to feel safe, learn more about science, and be prepared for your post-high school life. If you ever have questions (students or parents), please don't hesitate to reach out through email or during my office hours.
